In 1869, Johann Wilhelm Theodore Martens, his wife Frederika, their three children, Wilhelmina "Mina", William, & Charles Fredrick, came to the US from Germany, then by train to Lee County Iowa from Castle Gardens, New York. They settled in or near Franklin, Lee County, Iowa. Other relatives (probably Martens) were already there. The Martens were farmers and probably Lutherans. In 1879 they moved to Joplin, Missouri and later to Crawford County, Kansas. Any information about this family will be much appreciated. Thanks to anyone that can help.
