Hi Arnt-Erik,

I used the free Earth Point online tool at http://www.earthpoint.us/TownshipsSearchByDescription.aspx to enter Iowa > Township 066 N > Range 006 W to look for this township. (If you aren't able to access this tool or the General Land Office database from Norway, let me know and I can give you images from the search results.)

The Earth Point search results offered three options to see a map of the area:

1. A modern topographical map:
At this link [ http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/results/default.aspx?searchCriteria=type=survey|st=IA|cty=|twp_nr=066|twp_frac=0|twp_dir=N|rng_nr=006|rng_frac=0|rng_dir=W|m=05 ] click "Original Survey" http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/details/survey/default.aspx?dm_id=384283&sid=s4ykvmry.p5y then click the box next to "IA - 5th PM 066.0N - 006.0W" to see a map of the township shown in orange.

2. A plat map, circa 1832:
At that link [ http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/results/default.aspx?searchCriteria=type=survey|st=IA|cty=|twp_nr=066|twp_frac=0|twp_dir=N|rng_nr=006|rng_frac=0|rng_dir=W|m=05 ] click the "Plat Image" tab http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/details/survey/default.aspx?dm_id=384283&sid=s4ykvmry.p5y#surveyDetailsTabIndex=1 (using either the Plugin Viewer or Basic Viewer) from about 1832 that shows numbered sections in the township.

3. If you have the free Google Earth tool loaded on your computer, click the "Fly To On Google Earth" button to see a 12 Jun 2014 satellite image of the township, outlined in orange.
