Sample family

Seeking information on David Sample. He and siblings, Samuel, Elizabeth and James were placed under the guardianship of John H. Sims Sept. 27, 1845 in Lee County court.
David and sister Elizabeth were living with Isaac and Jane Atlee in 1850 and 1860. No idea what happened to James and Samuel.
By 1860 David had moved to Van Buren County, Iowa.
Believe his parents were James A. and Elizabeth Sample. Wondering if Jane Atlee might have been an older sister. Any information appreciated.
