Thanks so much for your help. It seems that story of a "family" connection was incorrect, but the information from the city directories adds to the facts. My grandfather's family is such a mystery but to my knowledge, there are no "Hoenigs" in my family. My Aunt gave me the information and made it sound like my grandfather dropped his pregnant wife and daughter off with "family" and went to look for work in Indiana. Obviously that was not the case. I so appreciate your efforts on my behalf. And I love the picture of the house - its great to have!
