From History of Lee Co. 1879.
Arthur Ingersol,far.Sec,6 P.O.Franklin Centre.
Son of James I. and Elizabeth Hill the former a
native of New Jersey, the Later of Pennsylvania.
Both pioneers of Hamilton Co. Ohio.Married There
his mother died in that county in 1807 leaving
two children-John,1805 still a resident of ohio,
Arthur born Oct.28 1807 2 weeks old when mother died.Father again married and lived in Ohio until
his death. Had nine children by second marriage.
Doesnt say name of second wife.
Arthur Ingersol married at age of 25 Julia A.
Skinner,Born in Hamilton Co. Ohio Nov.17,1817
Died Dec23 1839 Leaving 2 children John born Oct
26,1837,who served in civil war and William born
Dec 13,1839 Died May 9 1862 in Civil War.
Married 2nd Harriet sister of first wife Born
Hamilton Ohio Sept.1821 Married in Lee Co. but returned to Ohio and remained until spring of 1847 when they settled on their farm in Jefferson Twnship. 100 acres of Land valued at$35 an acre in 1879. Had 8 children,5 living.Eldest Mary E. born Dec 23,1842,died Oct 28,1846. Nathaniel S.born Apr 14 1845 died
Mar.5,1848.Alice A.Born Oct 23,1847 Arthur M.born Oct 11,1849 Harriet D.born Jan15,1852.Sarah L.born April5,1854,David born Dec 26,1858 died Feb 8,1859,and Sidney W. born May 3 1863.
The Schoene family were also early settlers
of Jefferson twnship. Charles Augustus had
a farm in Sec 5 Jefferson twnship.
Julia Skinner's parents were some of the
first settlers in Lee co.
Don't know if you have this information yet or
not. I wonder if the eldest daughters death
date is correct. Unless they took the census
for 1850 early. Maybe her middle name was
Eunice.
