1850 to 1885

LOVELING, HASSMAN, OSTDIEK

According to her Obituary & death card Margaret Loveling was born in Fort Madison, IA on Nov. 2nd 1851. She married Bernard Hassman at St. Paul Catholic Church on Nov. 23, 1875. My gradmother Elizabeth Hassman was baptized in the same church on Sept. 10, 1876. Her Sponsors were Gerhard Ostdiek & Mary Hassman. Their two oldest children were born in this part of Ia, but the third child was born in Council Bluffs, Pottawaname Co. by 1880. I do know that my Grandmother went to school in Council Bluffs. The came to Nebraska by 1902 as they purchased land in Kalamazoo Tnsp. Madison, Co.
