J.Wesley Shaffer who died in 1938 in Keokuk,Lee,Iowa was the son of John and Elizabeth Brannan Shaffer. His first name however was Joseph not John but he always went by Wesley. All census records except the 1900 census of VanBuren County list him as Wesley as does his marriage record and tombstone. He was married to Edith Sommerville in Keosauqua,VanBuren,Iowa. He was the brother of my grandfather. Carolyn
