mystery great grandmother

I'm having problems getting any info on my great grandmother Vina moree White. She married George Goodlander Heaton in Farmington Ia. George lived his entire life at Big Mound but died at Mt. Hamill in 1927. I was told Vina died when my grandmother, Margaret Carrie Heaton( b mar 28, 1893) was about 15years old, however, I found a reference to our Vina White dying at Ft Madison, Iowa in 1929. I remember my grandmother saying she had an Irish grandmother, also there has been a rumor for years that she may have had native american background as well.
I know my grandmother became the lady of the house when she was only 15 or 16. If the 1929 death date is correct I wonder where Vina was from approx. 1909 till her death in 1929. I would assume that the reference to her death in 1929 was an error except that all other info from that source has proved to be true.
I've checked all the online sites that I can think of so if anybody has information or any tips on where to go from here I would reall appreciate it
