Ft. Madison-Mrs. Hattie Grimwood, 72, of 3011 Ave I, was stricken at a Ft. Madison beauty shop Friday, Aug. 19, and was dead on arrival at Sacred Heart hospital at 11:15 a.m.

The daughter of William and Laura Ann Rector Hols, she was born Oct. 12, 1904, at New Sharon. She married Harry Ronald Grimwood Aug 30, 1924, he died April 18, 1958.

A resident of Ft. Madison for 53 years, she was a cook for the Ft. Madison Community school district, retiring in 1970. She was a member of Santa Fe United Methodist church, King's Daughters, OES, and VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving: son, Thomas, Huron, Ohio; daughter, Laura Ann Galland, Ft. Madison; sister, Mahala Swift, Keokuk; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Barr Memorial Chapel, Rev. Wilbert Trusheim and Rev. Lawrence Jones; Oakland Cemetery.
