Griffith lawsuit/ will

I have old letters from 1889 to 1892 that refer to A.W. Griffith persuing a lawsuit to break a will (I think) in the matter of a distant cousin dying in Ohio. I don't know how lawsuits go, but there is a reference to Andrew W. living in Keokuk. Is there an Iowa database that catalogs civil lawsuits that long ago? Illinois has such an archive, but I can't find anything like it for Iowa. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
