I need a copy of my gr-granparents marriage license. The certificate the family has is faded and unreadable. Frank Carrel and Addie Scranton were married November 26,1884 in Montrose, Ia. at the vital records site it says to obtain a copy of a license you must be "18 years of age or older and a direct blood relative within two generations (i.e. brother, sister, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter). I am the third generation. Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to get a copy front and back for genealogical purposes? I need to apply by mail, any advice?
