Raymond D. McGregor

Raymond D. McGregor, 72, of West Point, died at 11:25 p.m. Friday, April 29, 1994, at his home.
Born March 23 1922, in Burlington, he was the son of Raymond D. Sr. and Anna Pearl Morrow McGregor. On April 26,1947, he married Goldie Anderson in Washington, Kansas.
Mr. McGregor was a 1939 graduate of Lockridge High School. He served as a sergeant in Company B of the 753rd Tank Battalion in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a Silver Star medal and two Bronze Stars.
He had been a clerk for the CB&Q and Burlington Northern Railroad.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7641 in New London.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, David A. McGregor of New London; Marvin R. McGregor of West Point; Dennis E. McGregor of Burlington; Carl W. McGregor of Lake Villa, Ill.; and Donald J. McGregor of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Janet Holterhaus and Sandra Klesner both of West Point; nine grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother and one half-sister.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Elliot Chapel in New London.
The funeral for Mr. McGregor will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliot Chapel with the Rev. Sam Pendergrast officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery near New London with military rites at the gravesite by VFW Post 7641
A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
