SUDDENLY STRICKEN

W. H. Carpenter Dies at His Home Near Sandusky, Sunday,

At his home in Sandusky, Ia., Sunday, occurred the death of W. H. Carpenter, thus removing from his earthly home a fine specimen of manhood. About two years ago Mr. Carpenter fell a victim to an attack of la grippe, which went into consumption, which dreaded disease made him an invalid for about eighteen months prior to his untimely end. Sunday morning Mr. Carpenter partook of a hearty breakfast, after which he expressed a desire to take a drive, which was afforded him. After returning he went to his room and was reading a paper when he was seized with a hemorrhage which was the direct cause of his death. He expired at 9 o'clock, a very few minutes after he was stricken. Those left to mourn his loss are his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Carpenter; two sisters, Mrs. F. M. Ballinger and Miss elizabeth Carpenter, three brothers, Edward, Frank and Fred; a wife and one young son, Earl. He was twenty-eight years of age and was born and raised at Sandusky. He was a very prosperous farmer and was before his illness one of the healthiest and strongest men in that section of the country.
