April 1898--Unknown newspaper published in Lee County, Iowa

Gregory, Mo., May 3, 1898--Special--

On Wednesday, April 27, the grim monster death again entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gatton and took the little son, Howard Llewellyn, aged three years, five months and twenty-one days. The little one had been sick for some time with whooping cough, which had got him so weak he could not stand the strain of the disease. Dr. Tomkins, of Canton, and Dr. Black of Winchester, were called, but they could not help the suffering little one. All that medical aid could do was done. The little one was laid to rest at Bluff Springs cemetery Friday, where just a few short weeks ago his little baby brother was laid to rest. He leaves father, mother, brother and sister, and a large circle of friends to mourn for him.
