David C. Simpson died at the residence of his son in Kahoka Wednesday afternoon, aged seventy-eight years and twenty-one days. the funeral occurred Friday, Rev. S. Knupp officiating. Mr. Simpson served in a Pennsylvania regiment during the war. In 1865 he moved to Clark county and made that his home after that time. His wife died in 1886. Two children, Deputy County Clerk D.C. Simpson of Kahoka, and Mrs. M.B. Cohagen, residing north of there, survive him.
