The death of William G. Reid occurred Monday at noon at a hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, as the result of an attack of paralysis of the brain. Mr. Reid had been in poor health for some time and had gone to the sanitarium for treatment only ten days ago. He was sixty-seven years old.

Mr. Reid moved to Keokuk from Kahoka, Mo., when he was thirty years old, and he had made this place his home ever since that time. For the past five years he has been retired from active business. He is highly respected in this city by the many friends and associates whom he had acquired for himself during the thirty-seven years of his residence here. Mr. Reid was a member of the Woodman lodge.

William G. Reid was born in 1853 near Camp Point, Ill. When a small child he moved with his parents to Kahoka, Mo., where he lived until his coming to Keokuk. On April 9, 1889, he was married here to Miss Emma Banks who survives him. For many years of their married life they lived in West Keokuk. Mrs. Reid now resides at 710 North Seventh street.

The survivors are the wife, one brother, Jefferson Reid, of Kahoka; a nephew, Russel Maynard; an aunt, Mrs. e. P. Hickok of Winfield, Kan. The body is expected to arrive late this afternoon from Mt. Pleasant, and funeral announcements will be made later.

Funeral services for the late William G. Reid were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence, 710 North Seventh street. The Rev. Cummings of the Second Presbyterian church and the Woodman lodge officiated. The pallbearers were: George Peak, J. A. Pollard, J. B. Winking, William Martin, Frank Wilson and G. W. Moseley.
