The death of Frank L. Morgan, prominent business man who had lived his whole life in Keokuk, occurred at his home, 702 Morgan street, last evening at 7:40 o'clock. Mr. Morgan had been in poor health for several months. Last April he underwent an operation at the hospital. He rallied from the operation, but did not recover his health. In October he was operated upon the second time, and from that time he failed gradually until the end. He was conscious until a few hours before his death.

Mr. Morgan was born in Keokuk, April 26, 1864, and always made his home in this city. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Morgan, who were among the early settlers of the city.

He started when quite a young man to work in the carpet department of Irwin-Phillips Co. In 1886 this firm disposed of this department to Wyman & Rand, and Mr. Morgan continued with this firm. The business finally passed into the hands of Duncan-Schell Furniture company, and for many years Mr. Morgan was in their employment.

Two years ago Mr. Morgan, with Roy and A. Lofquist, organized the Morgan-Lofquist company, which does business at 603 Main street. Mr. Morgan was the president of the company and actively engaged in the business when sickness compelled him to give up his duties there.

Mr. Morgan was among our best citizens - a man of unquestioned integrity. He was a good business man, whether employed by others or working for himself. He was popular among a large circle of friends and much beloved by his family.

October 6, 1887, Mr. Morgan was united in marriage to Miss Ida Gill, who was also a resident of Keokuk. He is survived by his wife and two children, Olive and Arthur, who are both at home. He also leaves two sisters, Misses Helen and Mary Morgan, both of Keokuk, and one brother, Edward Morgan. He was a member of Keokuk lodge, B. P. O. E. No. 106, also held membership in Keokuk camp 622, M. W. A.

Funeral services will be held from the home, 702 Morgan street, Thursday at 3:00 p. m.
