Mrs. Helene Newberry, 76, 616 Avenue F, died at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Sacred Heart hospital.
Mrs. Newberry was born Feb. 7, 1896, in Fort Madison. She returned to Fort Madison about 10 years ago.
She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary Society.
In May 28, 1921 she was married to Lane K. Newberry, a widely-known artist, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Newberry, Cherry Hill, N.J. and Brother James Newberry, C. S. C. Rolling Prairie, Ind.; a brother, Ray L. Haden, San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Her parents were John and Emma Froebel Haden.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's church. The Rev. P. J. Budreau will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
The body is at Nieters Chapel where the rosary will be recited by the Alter and Rosary Society at 3 p.m. Friday and by the parish at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
A memorial is being established with the American Cancer Society.
