Virginia M. Blint, 96 of Camanche formerly of Ft. Madison, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Alverno Health Care Facility – Clinton.
Two Funeral Masses will take place for Virginia. The first will be 11:00 am Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Church of the Visitation in Camanche. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to mass beginning at the church. Secondly there will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Monday June 24, 2019 at St. Mary’s Parish in Ft. Madison, Iowa with visitation 1 hour prior to mass beginning at the church. Burial will be in Soldier’s Circle in Oakland Cemetery - Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Virginia Mercedes Laughlin was born September 17, 1922 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Cleo and Adelaide (Herold) Laughlin. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Ft. Madison. She married William Blint in Ft. Madison, Iowa on September 28, 1945; he preceded her in death in October 1987.
Virginia worked for Sheaffer Pen Company until she married and then worked for the Ft. Madison Community School System as a cook in the high school for many years. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche serving in the Alter and Rosary Guild and was a former member of the St. Mary’s Parish in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her two children: Jennifer (Jerry) Baldwin of Camanche, Iowa and Warren Blint of West Point, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Janeen (Ron) Reuter of Camanche, Joanna (Jamie) Campbell of Davenport, Iowa, Mike Blint of West Point, Iowa, Lori (Mike) Hasenclever of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Jamie (Chuck) Fullenkamp of West Point, Iowa, Travis Blint of Ft. Madison, Iowa and Rebecca (Tony) Eid) Blint of Ft. Madison, Iowa; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two great grandchildren and four brothers.
Memorial may be made to the Church of the Visitation in Camanche or St. Mary’s Parish in Ft. Madison.
