Bridge Engineer Drowned.
William O’Blenness, assistant engineer on the Keokuk and Hamilton bridge at Keokuk, walked through the door of the engine room into the river and drowned. Employes had left the bridge open after a boat had passed through for the purpose of cleaning the engines after their work was done.
