____Monday evening at 7:10 o'clock, at her home in St. Louis, occurred the death of Emily Hamill Fry, daughter of Major and Mrs. D. B. Hamill of this city, and wife of Dr. Francis R. Fry of St. Louis. Mrs. Fry's death followed an illness dating back nearly a year. Since the first of this year she has been practically bedfast.
Emily Hamill was born in Keokuk on October 5, 1876. She attended public school here and later attended Rockford seminary at Rockford, Ill. On March 1, 1900, she was married to Dr. Francis Rhodes Fry at St. Louis. She went to St. Louis to live, but has frequently been a visitor to Keokuk, where she was warmly welcomed.
Mrs. Fry was a woman of considerable charm and gracious personality. She had a wide circle of friends here, who looked forward to her visits, and who felt the charm of her manner and her personality. A devoted friend has been taken from them and their sympathies will be extended to the members of the bereaved family.
Mrs. Fry is survived by her husband and one daughter, Elizabeth Valle Fry, of St. Louis; her parents, Major and Mrs. David B. Hamill, one brother, Smith Hamill and one sister, Mrs. Paul Dysart of this city.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence, 4609 McPherson Ave., St. Louis, at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. The body will be brought to Keokuk on Wednesday evening, and a short service will be held at the residence of Major D. B. Hamill, 603 Morgan street at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning. Interment will be at Oakland cemetery.
