Funeral of Mrs. Mary Kerns Held
This Afternoon from Methodist
Church.

CHARLESTON, Iowa, Dec. 11. - Mrs. Mary Kerns, wife of M. T. Kerns of this place, passed away at her home here on Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock. Although Mrs. Kerns had been in poor health for about a year, death, which was caused by heart failure, was extremely sudden.

Mrs. Kerns was fifty-eight years of age and was born and raised in Charleston township. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ivy Hamilton of Fort Madison and Miss Alva Kerns who lives at home; one son, Dewey Kerns of Charleston; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Barnes of Charleston, and a brother, Samuel Stahr of Montrose.

The funeral was held from the Charleston Methodist church this afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. Frye of the Methodist church of Donnellson.
