DIED

SEELEY - At the home, 441 Front street, at 7:00 o'clock p. m., Wednesday, March 1, 1899, of consumption, THEODORE F. SEELEY, aged 42 years, 3 months and 27 days.

Deceased was born near Primrose, Iowa, November 7, 1856, and lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Seeley, on a farm near that place until 1882, after which he occupied a farm of his own near Cottonwood, Iowa.

On October 8, 1885, he was married to Miss Leah J. Dinsmore from which union five children were born, four of whom survive him, namely: Walter, Ada B., Roland P. and Mable Edna. The fifth, Theodore Dinsmore, died in San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his mother and one brother and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Davis, of Kansas City, Mo., and W. B. Seeley, of La Crew, Iowa.
Failing health compelled him to abandon the farm and in the spring of 1895 with his brother, George, traveled through the western states in the hope of finding a climate congenial to his health and finally settled down at Canyon City, Colo., where he was joined by his family and remained about eight months when he was called home by the death of his father, April 3, 1896.

His mind was clear to the last, but toward the end his voice failed him and his requests were made in a whisper. He came to Fort Madison with his family last April since which time his health rapidly failed.

The funeral procession left the residence at 8:30 Friday morning, March 3, and the remains borne to the St. L., K. & N. W. railway depot from whence they were conveyed over the Chicago, Burlington & Kansas City to La Crew and interred in the Sharon cemetery near that place at 11 o'clock a. m.
