From the Daily Gate City Newspaper of Keokuk, Iowa, dated Monday, Nov. 14, 1964:
MRS. CARRIE TESTMAN, ACCIDENT VICTIM, DIES
Mrs. Carrie M. Testman, 80, of Aleandria, who suffered critical injuries in a traffic accident near Alexandria at 5:40 p.m. last Thursday, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in Graham hospital.
Mrs. Testman was riding in the cab of a pickup truck driven by her son, Walter, and was thrown out when the door flew open on the impact.
Born July 11, 1884, in Montrose, she was the daughter of August and Sarah Jeffers Peterson. On March 10, 1909 in Keokuk, she married Waldemere C. Testman.
After seven years in Texas, they moved to Alexandria in 1933 and she had lived there since.
She was baptised in the Oak Grove Lutheran church and was organist there.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Bogguss of Revere, Mo., Mrs. Oliver (Sarah) Parish and Mrs. Carrie Gates of Keokuk and Mrs. William (Isabel) Ewers of PRyor, Okla., four sons, Raymond, Glenn, and Clyde of Keokuk and Walter at home; two brothers, Henry Peterson of Montrose and Albert C. of Evanston, Ill; 31 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbaned, a sister, Mrs. Rena Sweet, a rother, John Peterson, an infant son, Carol, and three infant sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Schmidt Memorial Home with Pastor Charles Ledin officiating. Burial will be in the Scandanavian cemetery.
