DEATH OF MRS. T. J. FORQUER.

She Passes Away After Being in Poor Health for Several Years and a Long Residence Here.

Mrs. T. J. Forquer died at 4 o’clock this morning from a complication of diseases. She has not been in good health for several years, and the acuteness of her sickness which resulted fatally was present for nine days.

Mrs. Forquer was Miss Elizabeth Fiske Gove, and she was born in Boston, Mass., January 22, 1845, so that at the time of her death she was fifty-three years, eleven months and twenty-one days old. At the age of seven she was taken to Illinois by her parents, and she spent the rest of her life in that state and in Iowa. She lived in Keokuk for about thirty years.

On December 13, 1860, she was married to Thomas J. Forquer at Oquawks, Ill. She joined the Methodist church at an early age and remained a Methodist all her life, being in later years a member of the First church here. She was very domestic in her life and took the greatest pains to make the home pleasant for her husband and children, conceiving this to be her first duty after her church work, to which she was much attached. She was a consistent Christian woman and her death leaves a void in the circles which have known her here.

Mrs. Forquer is survived by her husband and four children, Mrs. W. A. Patterson, of Chicago, Mrs. C. A. Warwick, Mrs. C. E. Harmon and Ben T. Forquer, of this city. Two brothers and a sister are still living, R. Gove, of Raritan, Ill., who is now here, having been summoned some days ago, Ben. T. Gove, of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. A. N. Matheny, of this city.

The funeral will be held from the family residence at Twelfth and Fulton streets at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon.
