Mrs. Vera Oneta Rhoer
Mrs. Vera Oneta Rhoer, 81, 204 Pine Street, Montrose, died unexpectedly at 6pm Thursday Feb 24, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix Ariz. while on vacation.
Mrs. Rhoer was born Feb 22, 1902 in Collins, Miss. She spent most of her life in Fort Madison and retired in 1964 from the Sheaffer Pen Co with 29 years of services. She was of the Protestant faith.
On Feb 21, 1979 she was married to Charles Rhoer, who survives.
Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter Mrs. John (Dolores) Genek of rural Donellson, a sister Mrs. Herbert (Ellen) Roy of Little Rock, Ark, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Her parents were William and Laura Carr Regan.
Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Monday at the Barr Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William Kennedy officating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 Sunday evening at the Barr Chapel.
A memorial is being established. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
