Death of Lydia Roth
Lydia Magdalena Roth daughter of the late John and Mina Roth passed away in the home of her sister, Mrs. Emma Snyder in Donnellson Saturday morning after a several months illness at the age of 47 years. She was born near Primrose Dec 15, 1894 and was a life long resident of this vicinity. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of Primrose.
She leaves to mourn her death five brothers: George Roth of Tyrone Okla, Edward, Charles and Henry Roth of Farmington and Johan Roth of Bloomfield, two sisters, Mrs. Matilda McGreevey of Bloomfield and Mrs. Emma Snyder of Donnellson, one aunt, Mrs. Peter Roth of Donnellson, 15 nieces and nephews.
She received Christian baptism as an infant and when grown became a member of Zion and Evangelical Reformed Church of Primrose to which she was a most faithful member until death. S he was particularly interested in Sunday School work, being a student of the Scriptures, she always made a valuable contribution to the class discussions.
Funeral services were held in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church in Primrose Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and were conducted by Rev Aug E. Bergy, Mrs. Delbert Warson and Miss Pauline Schau sang the hymns “Ivory Palaces” and “No Night There” accompanied by Mrs. L. H. Breitenstein.
The body was laid to rest in the Primrose cemetery, the following being pallbearers, Lee Snyder, Edgar McGreevey, Irvin Roth, Merle Snyder, Arlo Roth, and Connie Rohdy.
