Mrs. W. S. Moore
Her death occurred at the Family home Early this Morning.
This morning at 3:30 o’clock the death angel entered the home of Cant W. S. Moore No 804 Bank street and called hence his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Moore who was aged eighty years, one month and twenty three days. Ten days ago she fell down in the yard and sustained a broken hip and her death was caused by the shock. Deceased was born in Chillicothe O and when quite young removed with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Johnson to Springfield Ill at which place she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, January 21, 1838. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Moore resided in St. Louis and in the fall of 1855 they came to this city where they have resided continuously since. She is survived besides her husband by three sons, E. D. of this city, D. G. of Kahoka Mo and L. Moore of Centerville Iowa, one daughter Mrs. Flora E. Kingman of this city, one sister Mrs. Violetta Ruggles of Medford Mass and four grand children. Mrs. Ruggles is seventy five years of age and some weeks ago she too received a fall which one of her hips was broken. Deceased had been an esteemed member of Westminster Presbyterian church for thirty five years. The funeral will take place from the family residence Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. The burial will be private.
