Edward Hoffman
Edward W. Hoffman, 85, of 1902 Grand Ave. died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday Sept 9 at Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born Dec 23, 1900 in Keokuk, the son of John and Katherine Pfau Hoffman. He married Minnie Opstelten on June 12, 1934 in Keokuk.
He had lived in Keokuk all of his life and owned and operated an auto repair business. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and sang in the choir for many years. He was also a charter member of the Keokuk DeMolay Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie of Keokuk, daughter Rebecca Hoffman of Keokuk, sister Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) Gates of Keokuk, sister in law Mrs. Vera Hoffman of Keokuk, several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Melvin Lindner of Keokuk.
He was preceded in death by six brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ with the Rev A. H. Bauch officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1:30pm Friday at DeJong’s Funeral Home with the family meeting friends from 7-9pm.
