Last Rites fro Mrs. Opstelten to be held Monday. Funeral Services for 90 year old resident who died Friday morning will be held from home, Monday afternoon.
The funeral services for the late Jeanette Valkenburgh Opstelten will be held from the residence, 2120 Exchange Street, Monday after at 3:30 o'clock.
Mrs Opstelten's death occurred at her home yesterday morning at 11:15 o'clock after an illness of nine weeks.
Jeanette Valkenburgh, daughter of Lambery and Helena Valkenburgh was born Aulst, Holland, on October 26, 1844 and was ninety years of age.
In 1864 she was united in marriage with Jacob Opstelten in Holland. They came to America in March of 1885, coming directly to Keokuk where both spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. Opstelten died in 1878.
She became a member of the Presbytarian church in Holland. Surviving her are four children, Mrs. Lena Jacobs, Mrs. P.H.C. Blom, John Opstelten and Albert Opstelten all of Keokuk. There are also five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and
a number of neices and nephews. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
The body will be removed to the home, 2120 Exchange Street from Pearson and Schmidt Funeral HOme tomorrow morning.
