Mrs. Swanson's Death Occurs this morning.
Mrs. Nettie M. (Hagerty) Swanson of 1914 Main Street dies at the Graham Hospital early this morning following an operation.
Mrs. Oscar C Swanson of 1914 Main street, a well known resident of this city for many years, died at the Graham hospital at 3 o'oclock this morning following an operation. She had been in ill health for the past three years, but it has been only lately that her condition became serious.
She was an exceedingly active member of the Trinity Methodist church until her health failed her, and served there in many capacities. She was secretary of the Home Missionary Society of the Trinity chruch in this distric until the last few years and was also a worker in the Foreign Missionary Society.
Both through her church work and her social life she made a great host of friends who mourn her passing.
Miss Nettie M Haggerty was born in La Peer Michigan on February 13, 1879 and was the daughter of William and Mary Jane Hagerty. At teh age of three she came with her parents to Keokuk and has made her home here since that time.
On November 17, 1903 she was united in marriage with Oscar C Swanson in this city, to which union two children were born. Shw was a member of the Trinity church and of the Anna Ritter Circle of King's Daughters.
Surviving her are, her husband, Oscar C Swanson, two daughters, Helen and Elsie May Swanson, three brothers, Lawrence Hagerty of Keokuk, George Hagerty of Alton, Ill, and James Hagerty of St. Louis MO, two sisters, Isabelle Hagerty and Mrs. Morris Hanson, both of Keokuk, a sister Mrs. Frank Lambert preceded her in death in Mexico in 1911. She leaves in addition three aunts, Mrs. R.B Irving of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Addie Griffith of La Peer Michigan, and Mrs. John Opstelten of this city and one uncle John Patterson of Keokuk.
The funeral services will be held from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
