Ronald Miller
Ronald F. Miller, 63, of New London, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Born April 11, 1938, in Quincy, Ill., he was the son of Francis O. and Esther Inman Miller. He married Kay Thomas on July 5, 1957, in Fort Madison.
Mr. Miller was a 1956 graduate of Dallas City (Ill.) High School. He was a truck driver and hauled livestock for several small trucking firms. He drove for Heatilator in Mount Pleasant and, for the past 15 years, drove at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mitch Miller of Davenport and Kirk Miller of New London; two daughters, Marcy Vantiger of Mount Union and Missy Fear of Olds; nine grandchildren; one sister, Ramona Sandrock of Burlington; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin at noon today at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Miller will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.
A memorial has been established.
