Harold Brandt

Harold H. "Dutch" Brandt, 90, 1009 S. 14th St., Burlington, formerly of Fort Madison, died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1912 at West Point, the son of Herman and Barbara Hohl Brandt. He married Gyrtha Ritchey on Sept. 16, 1950 at Mount Pleasant. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1993.

He was a Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Eagles. He retired in 1997 from Sheaffer Pen Company after 33 years of service.

He is survived by four daughters: Barbara (husband John) Mallon, Woodinville, Wash.; Renee (husband Dan) Carr, Keokuk, IA; Raye Dunham, Newton, IA and Patricia Green, Burlington, IA, one step-son: Michael R. (wife Marion) Myhra, San Francisco, Calif., nine grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one step-daughter, one step-grandson, three brothers and one sister.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 with the family to meet friends from 2-4 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28 at King-Lynk, with Rev. Gordon Lundberg officiating. His body will be cremated following the service. Burial will be at Soldiers' Circle, Oakland Cemetery
