Richard Price was born July 29, 1827 in Wales and died July 27, 1896 in Keokuk, Lee, Iowa. There is listed an immigrant, Richard Price, who embarked from Liverpool on the ship, Caledonia, and arrived on April 2, 1849. He was listed as age 21 with an occupation of workman. In about 1858, Richard married Mary Ann Nelson, and had three children, Alice Mary, David Nelson, and Herbert Richard. He is listed in the Keokuk city directory as having the occupation of carpenter and buider at 2nd between Main and Blondeau with a residence at Carrol st., between 17th and 18th. He later died at the age of 48, leaving a widow and three children. He is buried alone in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. His wife's burial site is unknown.
