I think we are talking about the son

Chester Stoddard born about 1886. Married Mathilda Olinda Hinz had 4 children

Gertrude, Della, Alice and Howard.

She was my great Grandma's (Lillie Olga (Hinz) Hesse) sister.

I had word this year from a David Stoddard that Gertrude died this year. David was Howard's son.

hope this helps, I'd be interested in the ancestors of the Chester the son (1886) for my records. If you'd like the decendants of the Chester the son in more detail I can send them to you.
