Algona, Kossuth

ALLINGHAM, MCINTIRE, SKILLING

James Allingham left Canada for the U.S. in 1868.
In the 1870 Census he was living in Algona, Kossuth, Iowa working as a tinsmith.

He boarded with James McIntire, also a tinsmith, who was born in Scotland. Richard Skilling and his wife Elizabeth lived a few doors down. Elizabeth Skilling was born in Canada.

James had some reason to settle in Algona. Could Elizabeth Skilling be a relative?

Does anyone know anything about these people?

Thanks very much for any help.

Dolores Ingersoll
