My great grandfather, James Godden had a son John William Godden, born May 17 1855. I don't know where he was born but James and Eliza Godden did spend several years in Illinois just south of Chicago and as far as I know spent rest of their life in Iowa, Monona and Kossuth county.
Somewhere there is a Stowe in our history but I am in Florida for the winter and do not have all my history file with me (and we were not a close nit family). The Phelps and Moore names are familar to me, my Grandmother Graham (my mother's family lived next to Bernard Phelps and the Moore farms about 6 miles west of Titonka Ia.
