CAPT. JEANSON DEAD.
Well Known Kossuth County Pioneer Dies in California at the Age of 89 Years.

Captain R. E. Jeanson, for many years one of the most prominent men in northern Kossuth county, died last Sunday at his home in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 89 years. Captain Jeanson was one of the pioneer settlers of northern Kossuth and for many years was one of the best known and respected citizens of Kossuth.

He was a man of large means and at one time owned large tracts of land in what is now Eagle and Grant townships. Capt. Jeanson took great interest and materially assisted in colonizing these townships with the vigorous and prosperous Scandinavian farmers who now occupy a good share of the land in that portion of the county.

Capt. Jeanson left Kossuth county about 18 years ago, selling out his real estate holdings and moving to Des Moines. He later located at Los Angeles where he spent his declining days.

He is survived by his aged wife and four children: Mrs. O. K. Johnson of Los Angeles, Mrs. A. H. Tuttle of Des Moines, Robert Jeanson of Ames, and Ross Jeanson of Bellflower, California. The burial was made at Los Angeles.
