ELMER WEISBROD, FENTON, SUCCUMBS AT AGE OF 70

FENTON – Elmer Weisbrod, farmer and life-long resident of the Fenton vicinity, died Friday Nov. 7, at the age of seventy. Mr. Weisbrod spent his entire lifetime on the farm where he resided at the time of his death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Fenton Methodist Church of which he had been a loyal member for many years.

Born on Jan. 21, 1892, Mr. Weisbrod was the eldest son of Jacob and Ursula Weisbrod. On June 22, 1910, he married Sarah Marie Ludeke of Klemme. Their three children, Ralph, who farms the home place near Fenton; Mrs. Milfred Elbert of Whittemore, and Robert Weisbrod of Rolla, Mo., survive.

Also surviving are six brothers and sisters, including Mrs. John Light, Fenton; Mrs. John Ranney, Long Beach, Calif; Mrs. Roscoe Yager, Baker, Ore.; Ernest Weisbrod, Fort Dodge; Ben Weisbrod, Emmetsberg, and Clarence Weisbrod, Ringsted. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Mary Koklstedt.

Grandchildren surviving are Gregory and Kirk Weisbrod, Rolla, Mo.; and Jerry and Ruth Ann Elbert of Whittemore.

Funeral services were conducted Nov. 9 in the Fenton Methodist Church by the Rev. C. C. Callahan. Pallbearers were Melvin Weisbrod, Melvin Mansager, Gordon Weisbrod, Homer Schoenwetter, Stanley Ludeke and Paul Ludeke.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Art Schoenwetter, Mr. and Mrs. George Schoenwetter, Mrs. Lydia Ax and Ervin, Mrs. Leslie DeMerrit, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Schlichting, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyers, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Schoenwetter, all of Klemme; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ludeke, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dominic, Mrs. Daniel Collins and Stanley Ludeke of Clear Lake; Mrs. Mildred Weisbrod, Marlene and Maynard, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ludeke and Larry of Meservy; Mrs. Roma Ludeke and Clarence and Mrs. Harold Lloyd, Britt; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Elbert and Irene and Mr. and Mrs. Art Elbert, Whittemore; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Weisbrod and LeRoy Newel, Hartley; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Brooks and Dianne, Iowa Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lovejoy and family, Graettinger.
