Nov 13, 1929 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Livermore Gazette: John N Zeller died at Mercy Hospital in Ft Dodge Nov. 2, 2:45 am. He would have been 73 years of age on his next birthday in March 1930. His illness was about 5 weeks duration. The cause of his death was diabetes & an infection in his leg necessitated amputation but this was a last resort & there were little hopes that he would at any time recover from the operation.

The deceased was born March 10, 1857 at DuPage county, Illinois. He was married at St Joe February 7, 1888 to Barbara Leist and has engaged in farming all his life. He moved from the farm to St Joe 5 years ago.

He is survived by his wife & 2 children: John & Mrs Wm Haglind both of the St Joe area; also 2 brothers, Phillip of Clare City, MN & Jacob of Watertown, SD.
