WAGNER, ERPELDING, REDING

July 30, 1953 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Funeral services for Nicholas Wagner, 49, were held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church, with Father Ernst of Milford officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph cemetery.

Mr. Wagner, widely known and highly respected farmer in southern Kossuth county, died suddenly Sunday night after a heart attack. Only that afternoon he had attended a K.C. of A. picnic at St. Joe, and had been feeling fine.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, the former Adeline Erpelding to whom he was married June 1, 1933, at St. Joe, and four children, Donald, 14; Betty Lou, 11; Virgil, 8; and Sandra, 9 months. Four brother also survive: Theodore of LuVerne, and George, Sylvester and Orville, all of St. Joe. His two sisters surviving are Elizabeth, Mrs. John Reding of St. Joe, and Anna, Mrs. Nick Reding of Whittemore. Hamilton Funeral Home of Algona had charge of arrangements, and pallbearers were Edward, Donald, Cletus, Robert and Morris Reding, and Frank Wagner, all nephews of the deceased.

Mr. Wagner was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner, and was born July 17, 1904, at West Bend. He had farmed for the last six years on his place two miles northwest of St. Joe.
