Dec 12, 1950 - Algona Upper Des Moines - LeRoy Thilges, 42-year-old farmer, died suddenly Monday evening at his farm home 6 1/2 miles southwest of Algona. Death was due to a heart attack. The Hamilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete at this time. Rites will be held from the St. Joe Catholic church. Burial will be in the St. Joe cemetery.

Mr. Thilges is survived by his wife and four children, Darlene, 19, Donna Mae, 16, LeRoy, Jr 8 and Doren, 4; his mother, Mrs Catherine Thilges, St. Joe; and five brothers and two sisters: Walter and Valeria at home; Harry and Herman, LuVerne; Oswald, Wilmer, and Sylvia (Mrs Hubert O'Brien), Algona.

Mr. Thilges was born in 1906 in their farm home near St. Joe and lived all his life in that vicinity.
