July 19, 1933 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Mrs. Margaret Simon died July 5, at her home near West Bend following an illness of over six years. She was eighty-one years of age, and her declining years were largely the cause of her death, she was cared for by Mrs. Ben Dutton who kept house for her, and by her two sons, Mike and Nick, who lived at home with her.

Mrs. Simon was born in Luxemburg, Iowa. About fifty-three years ago she was married to John Simon and they moved to the West Bend neighborhood about eight years later. There they raised their family and Mrs. Simon continued on the farm after the death of her husband. Funeral services were held Saturday from the Catholic church in St. Joe with Father Theobald officiating.

Surviving children are Mrs. Mike Wagner of Mallard; Mrs. Will Leland Swea City; John Simon of Algona; Mrs. Peter Andre of Graettinger; Mrs. Matt Eischen of Blue Earth; Mrs. Ole Vinenu of Whittemore; and Mike and Nick Simon who live at home.
