June 4 1957 - Kossuth county Advance - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Reding 83, were held Monday morning at the St. Joseph Catholic church with Father Leo Schumacher officiating. Burial was made at St. Joe's cemetery. She died at Alta Vista, Ia., from a stroke after an illness of only a week. She had been staying with a sister there. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in October, 1954.

Mrs. Reding was born in Luxemberg on August 15, 1873 and came to Iowa while still a young girl. In fact, her parents settled in the St. Joe area upon arrival here.

She was married at St. Joe to John Reding and surviving children born from this union include: Anna, Mrs. George Borman, Alta Vista; Amanda, Mrs. Peter Borman, Livermore; and Harold Reding, Bode. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Joe, Alfred, Ralph, John B. and Peter Reding Jr. and Paul Erpelding.
