Livermore Gazette - John Link died on Tuesday, February 7th, 1888. John Link, after a lingering illness, at the age of 68 years and 3 days. Mr. Link lived three miles north of Livermore, and was the father of Mrs. Joseph Fuhrmann of this city. Mr. Link was born in Luxemburg, Germany, and moved from there to this country about 17 years ago, and has been engaged in farming ever since. He leaves a wife and eight children, all grown to man and womanhood. He was an honest, hard-working man, universally respected, and his death is greatly regretted by all who know him.

The funeral occurred at St. Joe on Wednesday, with the usual solemn rights of the Catholic Church, Rev. Zigrang officiating. Peace to his ashes.

Feb 9, 1888 - Died, Sunday, Feb. 5th, at 11:00 p.m. John Link, of St. Joseph, Ia. Mr. Link was an aged man and his demise has long been looked for. He leaves a wife and grown up family to mourn his loss. To them are extended the sympathy of all their friends.
