Dec 19, 1968 - Kossuth county Advance - Kasper L. Kohlhaas, 80 year old Irvington area retired farmer, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joe with the Rev. L.C. Schumacher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Hamilton - Wilson Funeral Home of Algona, in charge. Pallbearers were grandsons Ronald, Dwight, Harley, Howard, Marvin, and Allan Kohlhaas.

Kasper Kohlhaas was born Jan. 18, 1888 in Sherman Township, Kossuth County. His parents were Henry and Margaret Mallinger Kohlhaas. He was married to Susie Bormann on Sept. 24, 1912 at St. Joe, who survives. Mr. Kohlhaas died Saturday at St. Ann Hospital.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Raymond N. of Irvington and Wilfred H. of Livermore. There are 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One sister Mrs. Mike Bormann of Algona also survives.
