April 26, 1929 - Bode Bugle - Nick Frideres, a prominent farmer living west of St. Joseph died at Fort Dodge last week following an operation for appendicitis. He has been ailing for some time before going to the hospital.

Deceased was about 47 years age and leaves eight children. His wife passed away several years ago. He leaves, besides the children, one brother, John, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Thilges. Funeral Services were held at St. Joe last Monday morning and burial was made in the St. Joseph cemetery. — Livermore Gazette.
