Dec 6, 1973 - Algona Upper Des Moines - A longtime Livermore resident, Phillip Fouarge, 83, died Tuesday morning at the Humboldt Care Center South where he had been a resident for several years. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (today) in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Livermore with Msgr. J.E. Tolan of Humboldt officiating. Burial is in St. Joseph's Cemetery at St. Joe, the Blake Funeral Home of LuVerne in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers are grandsons: James, Robert and Dennis Behnkendorf, Daryl and David Ristau and Tony Fouarge.

Born Dec. 25, 1889 in Mersch, Luxembourg, Germany, Mr. Fouarge came to the United States in 1912 and settled in the Livermore-St. Joe area where he had lived until entering the Care Center. He was married to Rosa M. Stelzer Nov. 23, 1920 at Comfrey Minn., and was a tiler until his retirement. Mrs. Fouarge died in 1946.

He is survived by three daughters and one son: Marie, Mrs. Virgil Thorson, Rose Creek, Minn.; Monica, Mrs. Edward Behnkendorf, Bradgate; Martha, Mrs. Harold Ristau, LuVerne; and Joseph Dakota City. There are 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters still live in Germany. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
