August 30, 1901 - LeMars Semi Weekly - Miss Magdelena Besch of Whittemore, Kossuth county, died at the home of Theodore Gengler east of town on Tuesday. Miss Besch had been an invalid for the past eleven years and came to LeMars and Sioux City for medical treatment. She was about twenty-six years of age. Her mother was with her at the time of her death. The remains were shipped to her home in Kossuth county for burial and Mrs. Besch and Mr. Gengler accompanied them to their destination.

Miss Magdelena Besch of Kossuth County died at the home of her relatives, Theodore Gengler, in Marion township, on Tuesday and the remains were taken to her old home at St. Josephs on Thursday for burial. The mother and sister of deceased and Theodore Gengler accompanied the remains east. Miss Besch was about 35 years of age and has been an invalid for about eleven years. She was here a few years ago but afterwards returned home. During the summer she began to fail and then was again brought the hope that her health here with would improve as it once did before.
