Mrs. Henry Klocke of Wesley, Ia., a former Carroll county resident, died at the Kossuth county hospital, Algona, Ia., Tuesday, October 22, 1929, following an operation performed the previous day. She had been ill about two weeks. The cause of death was a gangrenous condition caused by a blood clot in the Mesenteric artery, as the result of an ulcerated tooth.

Mrs. Klocke, as Rose Banscher, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt Banscher, pioneer farmers of Carroll county, was born on a farm one-half mile south of Roselle November 1, 1886. She spent her childhood and early girlhood in Carroll county, and was married at Roselle to Henry Klocke on January 14, 1907.

They established their home on a farm southeast of Templeton, where they lived until eight years ago, when they located to Denver, as Mr. Klocke was not in good health. After a residence there of three years they settled on a farm two and one-half miles north of Wesley, Ia., where they have been living for five years.

Mrs. Klocke was a devout Catholic and died fully fortified with the last sacraments. She was a member of the Catholic church at Wesley and of the Rosary Sodality, and was formerly a member of the churches at Roselle and Templeton. She was a devoted wife and mother, and will be sadly missed in the home and in her community. The family consists of the husband and five children, Leonard, Myrtle, Arthur, Mildred and Florence. Three children died in infancy.

She is also survived by three sisters and a brother: Mrs. Otto Neppel, Templeton, Ia.; Mrs. Clem Goodman, Algona, Ia.; Anna Banscher, Pomeroy, Ia.; and Peter Banscher, Fort Dodge, Ia.

Funeral services were held at Wesley, Ia., Friday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church, when solemn high mass was said by Rev. Fr. Joseph Neppel of Pomeroy, assisted by Rev. Fr. George Wessling, the parish priest, and Rev. Fr. John Neppel of Mallard, Ia. Her body was then conveyed to Templeton where final services were held Saturday morning, Monsignor Huesmann being in charge.

Burial was made in the parish cemetery at Templeton beside the three children.

Attending the funeral from a distance were Henry Spiess, Davenport, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Goodman, Wesley, Ia.; Miss Anna Banscher, Pomeroy, Ia.; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Banscher, Fort Dodge.
